Completing mold remediation is an important milestone, but the project isn't finished until the work has been independently evaluated.
Post-remediation verification confirms that the remediation was completed in accordance with the Mold Remediation Protocol and that the affected areas are ready to return to normal use. A thorough inspection before containment is removed
Texas regulations require post-remediation assessments to take place while walk-in containment remains in place, where containment has been specified for the project.
This is an important part of the clearance process. Before containment barriers are removed, we enter the work area and inspect the completed remediation to confirm it meets the requirements outlined in the original protocol.
During the inspection, we evaluate:
The condition of previously affected materials
The cleanliness of the remediation area
Structural cavities where applicable
Moisture conditions that may contribute to future mold growth
Whether the underlying source of moisture has been addressed
Our goal is to determine that the conditions responsible for the original mold contamination have been corrected and that the issue is unlikely to return from the same source.
Mold clearance testing
Visual inspections are only one part of the process.
We carry out mold clearance testing using nationally recognized analytical methods specified in the remediation protocol.
Targeted air or surface samples are collected within the containment area and submitted to a TDLR-licensed laboratory for independent analysis, with 24-hour turnaround available.
The analytical results are reviewed against the clearance criteria established before remediation began, providing objective confirmation that the project has met the required standard.
Every stage of the process is documented to maintain a complete record of the remediation and clearance project.
Documentation that supports the next step
Once the inspection and laboratory analysis have been completed, we prepare a clearance report outlining our findings.
Successful clearance supports the issuance of the Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation (CMDR) by the licensed Mold Remediation Contractor and provides valuable documentation for property owners, insurance carriers and future real estate transactions.
For commercial properties, it also creates a documented record that the project has been independently assessed in accordance with Texas regulations.
